Multifunctional Sports Infrastructures. Scenarios, models and tools

Pietro Chierici (Adjunct Professor Politecnico di Milano and Senior Architect, EFA)

Pietro Chierici, architect and contract professor at the School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Construction Engineering of the Polytechnic of Milan, concentrates his research activity, both theoretical and applied, in the field of architectural design in its articulated multi-scalar definitions. Coordinator of design experiences regarding the transformation processes of complex and multifunctional areas, he delves into issues related to places of entertainment and free time. He directs his research towards the definition of the role played by large sports facilities within the processes of urban and social redevelopment in the modern city, with particular reference to the processes of formation, transformation and management of the built environment. Since 2015 he has been a member of the Infrastructure and Sports Organizational Criteria Commission as well as the UEFA Licensing Commission of the Italian Football Federation.
